THE WESTERN CONFERENCE ON SAFETY IS NOW OVER. Thank you to the over 1200 people who participated in the 2019 conference. We are already hard at work planning the 2020 Western Conference on Safety being held April 6 & 7, 2020 in Vancouver. Watch this space for more details coming this fall. 

Attending the Conference? Last Minute Information to Help You

  1. Commuting to the conference? It’s located in the Hyatt Regency Vancouver, 655 Burrard Street, Vancouver. The best way to reach it is via Skytrain with the Burrard Skytrain station located right beside the Hyatt Regency. Canada Line’s Vancouver City Centre station is located just 2 blocks away. Parking will be very full at the Hyatt but there is a fair number of public parking facilities located close by.
  2. Arriving on Sunday April 7? Beat the Monday morning rush and pick up your registration package at the conference registration desk. Open Sunday from 3:30 – 6:30pm on the 3rd  floor
  3. Monday/Tuesday Conference registration desk hours are Monday 7:00- 4:30, Tuesday 7:00 – 2:45pm.
  4. Lunch is NOT provided as part of your conference registration. The hotel features the Mosaic Grill restaurant, plus there is a large food court located in the Royal Centre Mall located under the Hyatt Regency hotel and just next door in the Bentall Centre Mall there are 2 more food courts. Outside at street level there are many popular restaurants and food trucks located within 1-2 blocks.
  5. The entire conference is a scent-free environment. In consideration of others, please avoid the use of perfume or personal scents.

The Western Conference on Safety is the largest Occupational Health & Safety Conference in Western Canada. Now in its 24th year and featuring 2 keynote presentations, 20 conference seminars, 5 post conference courses and 80 safety tradeshow booths this year’s conference promises to be the biggest and best yet. Last year’s 2018 Western Conference on Safety sold out with more than 1000 attendees, 180 exhibitor staff, and 30 speakers. Each year the advisory committee travel across Canada and the USA to find the most interesting, latest and best sessions and bring them to Vancouver. If you only go to one conference in 2019 make it this one!

As of today, Monday March 25/19 the only seats still available are for the Post Conference Course, Supervisor Safety Training (SST) being held Wednesday April 10/19. All other conference and post conference course seats are fully sold out. Due to the limited number of seats on this course we ask that you call 604 233-1842 or email to purchase one of them. We expect even this remaining post conference course to sell out shortly so we strongly suggest you do NOT make any travel arrangements until your registration is confirmed.

As of today (March 8) the conference is 95% sold. There are a very limited number of regular registration seats and Tuesday Only seats still available.  (Check the conference “Registration” webpage ” for the latest on availability). Yes its true. If you want to register for the full conference (ie: Monday and Tuesday) or just the single day Tuesday of the conference there are still lots of seats available. But if you were hoping to purchase a single day registration for just Monday April 8/19 those Monday only seats are now SOLD OUT.  But to repeat, there are still lots of full conference seats and Tuesday Only seats available.
