THE 2018 WESTERN CONFERENCE ON SAFETY IS NOW OVER.

2019 Western Conference on Safety Scheduled for April 8 & 9, 2019, Vancouver BC.

2019 Conference Details Coming September 2018

The Western Conference on Safety is the largest Occupational Health & Safety Conference in Western Canada. Now in its 23rd year and featuring 2 keynote presentations, 20 conference seminars, 5 post conference courses and 80 safety tradeshow booths this year’s conference promises to be the biggest and best yet. Last year’s 2017 Western Conference on Safety sold out with more than 1000 attendees, 180 exhibitor staff, and 30 speakers. Each year the advisory committee travel across Canada and the USA to find the most interesting, latest and best sessions and bring them to Vancouver. If you only go to one conference in 2018 make it this one!

This is my third time at the conference and I always learn something new each time.

The 2018 Western Conference on Safety is now over. While we are still compiling the results from the delegate evaluations the buzz was extremely positive. While the conference has now sold out for 6 of the last 7 years, the regular and group registration categories sold out over 3 weeks before the conference itself and that’s a new record. Over 1200 people participated in the conference over the 4 days of conference sessions, safety tradeshow and post conference courses.  Thank you to all the speakers, exhibitors, volunteers, staff and all our wonderful attendees. The 2019 conference runs Monday April 8 and Tuesday April 9, 2019 at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver.  Registrations for the conference will open November 1, 2018 with tradeshow sales opening in early September (date to be announced).

Last Minute Tips for The Conference

Getting excited? We are! Looking forward to seeing you all there.  Here are 3 last minute tips.

  1. If you are driving to the conference you may want to consider taking Skytrain or Canada Line instead. The Burrard Street Skytrain Station is located right next door to the Hyatt Regency Vancouver (the conference venue) and the Canada Line Vancouver City Centre Station is only 2 blocks away. With car parking both expensive and challenging Skytrain and Canada Line are an easy, quick and economical ways to get to the conference.
  2. If you can or will be downtown between 3pm and 6pm on Sunday April 8/18 stop on by the Hyatt Regency 3rd floor foyer and pick up your delegate package. That way you avoid the lineup at the conference registration desk on Monday morning. On Monday the Conference Registration Desk opens at 7am for you early risers.
  3. Avoid the peak Monday morning 8:10-8:30am check-in time at the conference registration desk by arriving outside those times. The Safety Tradeshow opens at 7am on Monday morning and we’ll have the coffee on for you.
