Due to current coronavirus issues, the 2022 Conference Steering Committee has decided to postpone the 2022 Conference from April of 2022 to May 1-2, 2023.
The conference steering committee has been working hard over the past few months to finalize the first in-person conference since April 2019 and are extremely disappointed to have to postpone for another year. Over the last few weeks the committee has spent many hours reviewing public health agencies’ orders and resources, briefings, Covid modeling studies and has performed several detailed Event Risk Assessments. At this time, based on the current information and projections of risk for large gatherings, we cannot ensure the health and safety of our many hundreds of delegates, exhibitors, speakers, volunteers and staff. It’s a gamble we do not feel comfortable taking with your (or our) health and safety. Please accept our sincere apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and we trust that you understand this action has been taken to protect the health and safety of all involved with the 2022 Western Conference on Safety.
PS: Many people have already asked if the Western Conference on Safety will return in 2023 and the answer is a resounding YES! The conference will be back at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver May 1 & 2, 2023. More information on it will come this fall.
PPS: If the Covid situation improves significantly by late spring we hope to run some smaller 1 day in-person events such as a Safety Professionals Symposium and/or a Joint Health and Safety Committee Education Day. Watch the Pacific Safety Center website for more information.
