The Western Conference on Safety is the largest Occupational Health & Safety Conference in Western Canada. 2023 was the conference’s 25th year and featured 2 keynote presentations, 20 conference seminars, 4 post conference courses and 80 safety tradeshow booths. It sold out more than 3 weeks prior to the conference run dates. Our conference advisory committee is already working on the 2024 agenda.  Each year they research, network and travel across Canada and the USA to find the most interesting, latest and best sessions and bring them to Vancouver. If you only go to one conference in 2024 make it this one!

The Women in Occupational Health & Safety Society has a special event for you! Join Rae Ann Aldridge and Kim Kennedy for WOHSS Happy Hour Vancouver – an in person mixer at the Funk Coffee Bar!
Date: Monday, April 20th (in coordination with the Western Conference on Safety).
Location: Funk Coffee Bar, 1025 Dunsmuir Street – at the Bentall Centre.
Time: 4:45 PM

Conference Nearly Sold Out

The conference is nearly sold out. There are only a few full 2 day seats available, and a few more Single Day – Tuesday Only seats. It is completely sold out of Single Day – Monday Only seats.  If you want to register for either of these categories, please call 604.233.1842. (With only a few seats still available the online registration form been disabled).   With the limited number of seats still available and the strong possibility that they may sell out before you contact us, we strongly suggest you DO NOT make any travel arrangements until your registration is acknowledged AND CONFIRMED by our registrar.

Session Changes

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the following two sessions have been changed. Session 4A was “From Blame to Understanding: Investigating Behavior Thru Context” and been replaced with  “Safety Culture: What It Is and How Safety Practitioners Can Help Their Employers Advance it”  and Session 8B ” Challenging Assumptions Behind Health & Safety Thinking”  has been replaced by “Safety Leadership 101: How To Find The Safety Leader Within”  both new sessions are now being presented by Glyn Jones. Conference Update – 70% Sold

As of March 11, 70% of conference seats have already been sold. While lots of spaces are still available, the early payment deadline is just one week away. In previous years, the conference has sold out on or shortly after this deadline. If you’re planning to attend Canada’s largest Workplace Health & Safety Conference, we encourage you to secure your spot soon to avoid disappointment. Safety Tradeshow Booths Sell Out In Record Time!

All 80 safety tradeshow booths sold out by mid-December—the fastest sell-out in the conference’s history. Delegate registrations are also tracking well ahead of average, putting us on pace for another complete sell-out of both the conference and tradeshow. As of January 16, 2026, lots of delegate seats are still available, but they are filling quickly. If you are planning to attend, we strongly encourage you to register early to secure your spot.
